Vogadors, a project by the Institut Ramon Llull (IRL) that brings together the work of young architects from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, has been presented this afternoon at  the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale in the Collateral Events section. Vogadors, curated by Jordi Badia and Félix Arranz, is on display in a location close to the Arsenale.

This year, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands will take part in the Venice Architecture Biennale for the first time in the Collateral events section with the project Vogadors, curated by Jordi Badia and Félix Arranz and promoted by the Institut Ramon Llull. The 13th Venice Architecture Biennale will take place from 29th August to 25th November in the spaces regularly used for this event. The Catalan pavilion will be sited in a location different to the one used in the two previous editions, and will be situated very close to the Arsenale.

The architectural technical lighting company LAMP, whose headquarters are in Terrassa, will be sponsoring the participation of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands in the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale. The agreement is a response to the need to seek new sources of financing for bringing Catalan culture to international attention.

Vogadors/Architectural Rowers by Jordi Badia and Félix Arranz will be representing Catalonia and the Balearic Islands for the first time at the Venice Architecture Biennale. This is the project selected unanimously by the jury appointed by the Institut Ramon Llull, who published their verdict on Wednesday. The work has been chosen from the five finalists selected on 9 January.

The jury for the competition to choose the curator of the participation of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands in the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale met on Monday and chose the five finalist projects. The teams that have submitted these five projects will now have until 27 January to develop them more fully for the second stage of the competition, Ideas. The name of the winning curator chosen by the jury will be announced on 1 February.

The Institut Ramon Llull (IRL) has announced a public competition to choose a curator who will be responsible for drafting the proposal for the participation of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands in the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale.
