180

Catalonia and the Balearic Islands presents a project created in the city of Venice by the artist Mabel Palacn and curated by David G. Torres.

The title, 180, makes reference to the so-called 180 rule in cinema that alludes to the relationship between the position of the camera and the spectator. Through photographs and videos in which both media overlap, the project reflects the manifold quality of the image, its non-univocal character and the role of the user in constructing different narratives. Venice becomes the subject of the project, highlighting a dialogue between history and contemporaneity: a central space for cityscapes (vedutas) and the urban as a contemporary space, between the local and the universal.
